Myculture or mussel farming is the industrial cultivation of mussels, a shellfish farming activity directed and controlled by its producers in floating structures or rafts, called bateas or longlines anchored in coastal waters. Nowadays it is one of the main economic activities of many coastal populations around the world, being “our” Galicia one of the main world producers of this excellent product of an excellent nutritional quality.
